The Portals Of Dualism

In a previous post I have written how we have tapped into a digital dimension with the advent of the computer, a dimension which is founded on numbers (like our physical analog dimension), yet in a binary form reflecting the principle of an 'ON' and 'OFF'-state.

The principle of Dualism operates in exactly the same way.
It consists of an 'ON'-state, and its derivative which embodies the opposite of that, the 'OFF'-state.

When we were born, we were woven into a reality which is integrated with this digital principle of Dualism.
The moment we entered a Body of Flesh and Blood our Soul tapped into the digital dimension of Dualism, and both Good and Evil became part of our being.

Only, whereas the principle or programming code of Dualism is strictly digital in nature (either something is Good or something is Evil), our expression of this digital principle is analog in nature.
In other words, between the '1' and the '0' of the digital Dualism principle we are able to define and express an infinite number of different shades of either the '1' or the '0'.

Before the principle of Dualism was programmed into YHWH's Creation, the digital reality of Good and Evil did not exist.
In binary digital terms, from the perspective of our current Dualism there was only the '1' and not a '0'.

The digital binary system only knows a '1' and a '0', with no intermediate values, and the principle of Dualism is based on either Good, or Evil.
Since we are born into an analog field of a cyclic reality where Dualism manifests itself, we come to think in dualistic terms of Good, and rebellion against Good, beginning and end.
Yet this reality is an artificial by-product, the result of Dualism.
Before Dualism was created, YHWH's analog reality (the '1') was subdivided into an infinite different manifestations of the '1' or 'Good', and this established diversity of a very different kind than our corrupted and disfigured concept of diversity.

The Satanic (false) ideal of diversity is expressed in an infinite number of anti-Good variations and thus it is nothing other than the logical outcome of the Dualism principle, and it represents an artificial reality like a dream which can only exist as long as you remain asleep.
YHWH's (true) ideal of diversity is found in all manner of variations on what is Good, such as in the case of one Good man who excels in verbal eloquence and an entrepreneurial Spirit, and another Good man lacking in eloquence, but having an introvert Spirit and an ability to write beautiful music.

However, the moment YHWH wove the programming of Dualism into His Creation, a reality based on a digital principle of '1' and '0' became a distinct possibility.
The very moment one of the Heavenly beings decided to latch on to the '0' when he deliberately opened up the 'Box of No', the digital principle of Dualism expressed itself through the vessel of this Heavenly Being who became known as 'the Adversary', 'the Satan'.

The Satan became a living Spiritual converter of the '0' side of the principle of Dualism.
Through him Evil was able to express its character in an analog reality and spread itself like a virus.
Once the Adversary had opened up the 'Box of No', meaning he tapped into the '0' of the Dualism principle, he no longer could remain a converter for the '1', which stands for YHWH's presence and His character of Good.
As a result the Satan became a living expression of Evil, the '0', just like all the other Angels who made the same choice as the Adversary.

When the Angels tapped into the program of Evil they did not become dualistic beings like us.
They became Evil Spirits without any link to the 'Good side'.
Their Spirits which previously energized the '1' of Creation now became energizers of the '0' of the principle of Dualism.
That is the reason why Evil Fallen Spirits cannot be saved: there is nothing within them left which is able to connect to what is Good.
Angels cannot experience an inner duality between Good and Evil, because the moment they put up a block against the Light, all was Dark within them.

Because YHWH knew in advance that this moment would occur, and that there would be no way for those Angels who rebelled against Him to be restored back to the '1', He created a separate realm where they would be able to exist once the dualistic phase of Creation would end.
This realm was created for the Fallen Ones, the fallen Heavenly beings, because they could not transform back into being a converter of the '1' reality.
That realm was NOT created for human beings.

However, because of the choice we have to persist in our fallen state, Man's Spirit also can opt to identify with Evil and thus become part of this realm created for the manifestation of the '0' side of Dualism.
But this 'realm of Evil' was not created for Man, but for the Angels, because unlike Man they are unable to be restored.
That is also why there was not and never will be a Redeemer or Savior for the Fallen Angels, since there is nothing within them which allows them to be saved.

Because of the presence of Evil, Man too can choose to become a digital-to-analog converter of the '0'-side of the principle of Dualism.
In our realm we encounter a large variety of different expressions of Evil.
Those expressions ALL have their origin in the digital '0' of Dualism, but the particular way in which this '0' is converted is analog in nature.
Let me give you an example.

When a child steals candy from a store, it is an Evil act.
When a murderer deliberately kills a small child, it is an Evil act.
As such both are expressions of the '0'.
Yet although both are part of the Evil side of the Dualism coin, both are not of the same order.

If we would assign the death penalty to the murderer as well as the child, surely there is no one among you who would argue the fact that this is absurd and an unjust thing to do.
Likewise, the same is true in the case we would ground the child for three weeks and give the murderer the same penalty.

Our entire justice system is based on the fact that we convert a digital reality of Evil into an analog expression thereof, and as such it requires different penalties for different expressions of Evil.
The different degrees of punishment are an indication of the different degrees of Evil, and it shows that Evil has a wide range of expressions in an analog reality, even though ALL these expressions have in common that they embody the '0'.
There are different degrees of the expression of both Good and Evil, and although all expressions belong to either one OR the other, they differentiate from each other in the degree to which they express the nature of their origin.

Human beings have been given a human Soul which is integrated with a physical Body AND a metaphysical Spirit.
As such it receives the input of both, and makes a choice which reality it wants to identify with.
Our Spirit comes from the 'real' metaphysical world, while our Body of Flesh belongs to a world which is like a simulation.
The reason why our physical world is not the highest reality is because it needed to be able to project a reality which is impossible in real life, namely a reality where non-existence can express itself as if it exists.

Both the Spirit and the Body of Flesh represent the two sides of Dualism: Good and Evil.
Our Spirit provides the energy for the Evil element of non-existence to come into existence in the form of the Flesh.
It grows like an embryo feeding on our compulsion to sin.

In other words, for Evil to come into existence, a special setting had to be created where we are capable of transferring Life-energy into a programming which makes the Dark side of the Dualism coin come alive in and through us.
Evil is able to come alive only because of the transfer of Life-energy to the basic programming of Evil, so that it is able to establish itself as an avatar in an allegorical reality where Evil expresses its character through the avatar.

For the digital principle of Dualism to become a reality for Man it was required that Man should have a part which belongs to the network of Good, and a part which belongs to the network of Evil.
To be able to create such a reality YHWH brought forth a special environment of the physical dimension where our senses are restricted and bound to the laws pertaining to the physical realm.

Our Spirit contains the knowledge of Good, the Flesh acts as an agent of Evil, and these components establish the digital nature of Dualism.
They are integrated together with the human Soul into one package.
The human Soul is the element which converts the input of the Spirit and the Flesh into an analog reality which knows shades of Good and shades of Evil.
As such human beings are given a unique Soul, because whereas Angels do not know any internal Dualism and remain either Good OR they become all Evil, we are placed in a package which allows us to experience both and be saved from Evil, if we desire to be free from it.

We are positioned 'below' the Angels in terms of reality for the specific reason that we might experience Evil without becoming like the Angels who transformed into Evil Spirits.
YHWH knew beforehand that there would be Angels who would deliberately go against their nature and become expressions of Evil, and He created a special separated reality-realm for them where they can exist, a realm we refer to as Gehenna or Hell.
As I wrote earlier, Hell was not created for Man, but for the Fallen Ones, since they could never be restored.

We, on the other hand, are positioned in a reality which allows us to experience BOTH the reality of Good and the artificial, programmed reality of Evil without being separated from the knowledge of Good because we acted out Evil.
In order for this conflict of reality to become part of our Soul, YHWH made us schizophrenic in nature.
Yes, most of us basically are schizophrenic, because we carry two conflicting mutually exclusive realities and two conflicting identities within us, and to us the choice is given which identity we consider to be our TRUE identity, and which the false one.

Human beings who sin against YHWH's Spirit lose their schizophrenic nature and merge with Evil, becoming like Fallen Angels.
The reason why they become like Fallen Angels is because they sinned in the Spirit, like the Angels did, and the Spirit belongs to the REAL Life of the higher reality of Heaven.
No longer do they experience the pangs of conscience, because the knowledge of Good which activates the conscience no longer is present within them.
Their Spirits have gone Dark, and as such the input they receive in their Souls is the input of either a Dark Spirit or the Dark Flesh.

Think of it like this: if you play a video game and you shoot your opponent in the game, you remain guiltless because it is not real, but the moment you grab a real gun and shoot your brother who plays your opponent, you carry bloodguilt, and you will suffer the consequences of your crime.
Likewise, to identify with Evil to the extent that you come to hate YHWH's Spirit cuts the identity of your Spirit off from YHWH's Spirit, and you live in Darkness, devoid of Light, forever hating the Light.

On the other hand, human beings who identify with YHWH's Spirit suffer from Spiritual schizophrenia in their Souls, and they have to learn to endure the inner conflict between the fallen identity of the Flesh, and their true identity of the Spirit.
Those who love YHWH experience the onslaught of their fallen nature as it gradually dies within them, and because they have identified with that fallen nature for a season they experience its struggle and dying pains whenever it projects this struggle and pain within their Soul.
They go through times when this fallen identity seeks to feed itself at the expense of the new identity of the Spirit, and these times are moments when the Soul suffers from the 'oppression' of Evil.

YHWH wanted us to experience Dualism as an internal reality so that we might make the choice for Him.
The choice for YHWH begins a process where our Soul is sculpted by the Master's Hand into the person He created us to be, and the tool YHWH uses to shape us is our inner Dualism.

Allow me to illustrate our inner Dualism in another way:
Evil is like the digital '0'.
Our physical Body represents the force linked to the '0', while our Spirit represents the Force linked to the '1'.
Our Soul, -being integrated with both-, expresses the influx of the '0' and the '1' in an analog field of seemingly unified opposites.
Infinity is positioned next to finiteness.

The '1' (Good) is really all there is, and everything in Creation including infinity is expressed in the '1'.
The '0' is the artificial element, because it expresses something which can never exist, and therefore is nothing more than an idea, a dream, an avatar.
The '0' stands for the absence and the opposite of infinity, and it expresses this impossibility as an avatar in an artificial reality.

Evil, from the perspective of YHWH's position, is something which never can exist in the reality on His level of being.
However, the way Evil is able to express its character as determined by the principle of Dualism, is by means of a transference of that which is, Life-force, to that which is not.

It is this 'blood-transfusion' which makes something which can never exist, come alive as if it CAN exist.
Because of this 'blood-transfusion' (the transfer of eternal energy), Evil, -although it is finite from the perspective of the reality of Heaven-, becomes infinite for those who have isolated themselves into this Darkness.

The energy they donated and drafted for Evil is eternal, and that is why, when YHWH ends Evil by separating it from the reality of Heaven, the container of Evil will contain this reservoir of energy for all eternity.
And that is why for those who have trapped themselves in this Evil container their chosen punishment will be eternal and know no end.
Not because Evil is eternal, because Evil cannot exist in reality.
But because Evil was animated by means of stealing eternal energy.

This act of theft becomes the punishment for those who are guilty of that theft and never repented.
Not only do they end up creating the tools and reality of their torture, but they have established tools of torture of an eternal nature because of the eternal energy which makes them function.
Energy does not begin or end, it just changes form, and when the form has changed from Good to Evil and there is no way back, then this energy is captured forever in the form of an expression of Evil.

Think of it like this: if you watch a movie, you are part of two realities, namely the fictitious reality of the movie, and the reality of 'real life'.
Those who have chosen for Evil are like the ones who stepped from the reality of real life into the fictitious reality of the movie so that they will always be part of it.
When the movie ends, they remain part of the movie.
For those who were not absorbed by the fictitious reality of the movie the fictious story of the movie is over and no longer is part of the reality of life.
That is how Evil, though it will end from the perspective of the real Life in Heaven, will remain an eternal reality for those who integrated with it.

Perhaps the way I write may seem a bit clinical at times when I try to explain how YHWH created everything, and why we are here on Earth.
Rest assured that in spite of my feeble attempts to express the understanding given to me in words, nothing about what YHWH created is clinical or cold.
YHWH is our Father who put us here in a zone where we may often wonder why He does not listen to our pleas, why He allows so much  pain and disappointment in our lives.

Here on this blog I try to pass on and inspire understanding in you.
As human beings we have a very limited perspective.
YHWH's perspective not only transcends our limited views, but it also makes us aware of how our journey in this dualistic cycle-based reality was created for the sole purpose of providing our Souls with the kind of environment which allows us to make a choice, grow and blossom.
And this process of growth includes pain, unfortunately.

Do not let pain drive a wedge between you and the One Who loves you, because in spite of the abuse you may suffer at the hands of the Evil One, our Heavenly Father never abandons you.
Like a true Father He watches over you constantly, all the time.

And when the Evil One abuses you, why do you think he makes you suffer?
It's because you belong to the One he hates, and he can't stand the sight of you and your rejection of his lies.
Never mind him, just endure to the best of your abilities, knowing that your Father is watching over you, fulfilling your destiny even though it may seem to you that you are miles off course.
Trust me, you are right where you are supposed to be.

European Travesty

I don't watch Eurovision song contests and usually refrain from commenting on them since they have nothing to do with music whatsoever.
But this year I just want to give my compliments on how well Europe has chosen to be represented; of all the candidates a bearded man in woman's clothes was chosen for the number one position!

How proud the Brussels' political travesty must be that the greatest European cultural achievement now is heralded all over the world in the form of a bearded man with an identity crisis!

The Digital Dimension

With the advent of the digital computer we tapped into a dimension where voltage changes are represented by numbers, and the shuffling of those voltage changes through 'On'-'Off' switches causes a particular programming code to come alive.
The digital dimension is a huge catalogue of numerical values which are transformed by means of mathematical formulas, resulting in new numbers and corresponding voltage changes.

In other words, the computer is a big calculator capable of modifying a sample it took from our analog reality dramatically by means of the calculations it performs, so that when it converts the original signal back into an analog signal it is able to sound completely different from what originally was recorded.

We as human beings live in a realm which also has its origin in numbers acting as operators on energy so that a particular form or programming comes alive.
The sounds we hear are numbers manifesting in acoustic energy, the colors we see are manifestations of numbers in the form of electromagnetic waves.

We perceive particular frequencies as sound, or electromagnetic waves as colors, because our senses have been equipped to register the numerical values of the wavelengths, and they are programmed to interpret this registration subjectively and differentiate between different colors and sounds.
The combination of the ability to register signals and the programming which turns the signals into our reality-environment causes us to hear a particular sound are a certain frequency, or see a particular visual image with different colors.

If you bring to mind the digital realm, then the same thing occurs.
We move electricity by means of  '1's and '0's through circuits, and we do this in such a way that they cause a programming code to be executed and we are able to relate to it with our senses.
It is not the 'ones' and the 'zeros', but the flow of electricity which 'breathes life' into a programming code.

The digital realm is derived from our physical realm.
When we digitize sound or a visual image, we measure slices of sound or light waves with a certain resolution, and each point we measure is catalogued as a specific mathematical value, or, a number.

We cannot relate to sound or color in their digital form because we are not digital computers.
So we need converters which translate a physical phenomenon from analog (which is infinite in nature because the possible subdivisions between the binary concept of '1' and '0' are infinite) to digital (which is finite because it is limited by its resolution which translates into one specific finite value), and from digital to analog.
The translation from digital to analog requires that the measured values which are stored in digital form (binary numbers representing specific numerical values of electricity) are 'glued' back together by means of calculating the transitional values between one measured value and the next value, thus resulting in a synthesized analog waveform which we can relate to.

In our analog domain numbers are the structural elements of our analog reality.
When the computer translates the numerical values of audio into an analog audio signal, it ends up creating an analog reality out of the digital domain.
In that sense we are the god-makers who made the digital computer, and the digital computers are gods capable of fabricating our reality, depending on the input we give it.
We give life to the digital dimension by providing it with electricity, not the other way round, so our higher analog dimension brought forth the lower digital dimension as its child and feeds it with energy to make it come alive, just as our analog physical dimension is the child brought forth by the higher spiritual dimension.
Our physical dimension is like a 'sampled' reality environment derived from the reality of the Spirit.

The analog-to-digital converters and vice versa are like portals into another realm, and it is only a matter of time before we are able to project the complete digital environment of a program, such as a game, into a holographic setting within our living room, thus enabling us to create a situation where we are still integral part of the physical dimension, yet we also live in a projection of the digital world into our physical environment as we interact with our holographic environment.
We do not really live in the digital realm because we cannot be part of it due to our analog nature, but we can enter it at will at any point we like, and we can react to it and relate to it in the same way as we relate to our physical environment.

The digital dimension is capable of intertwining itself with our physical environment, even though it is a very distinct realm of its own.
Yet to us the digital realm is a dimension of a lesser reality than our physical reality, because we rule over the digital domain and shape it from our physical domain.
The digital world is derived from our analog world, not the other way round.

Isn't this exactly how our physical world relates to the spiritual world?
The Angels have portals by means of which they are able to access our world at any point in space and time, just as we can access the digital dimension wherever there is a computer or other interface.

If we carry a tablet or a notebook with us, we can access the digital realm from any location we desire, as long as we remain connected to the network.
Without that connection we, as creatures of the analog physical world, are separated from the digital world.

Our physical world compares to the spiritual world like the digital world compares to our physical world, and just as the concepts in the digital world are derived from the physical world, the concepts of the physical world are derived from the greater reality of the spiritual world.
We are living in a reality which is a limited sample from the greater reality of the Spirit, and this reality is shaped by the programming our Creator wrote, a reality which is based on the programming of Dualism.

As long as WE are connected to Heaven we can receive input from the network of Heaven, but without that connection Heaven is isolated from our experience.
We permanently lose our connection to Heaven when we sin against the Power which operates in the network of Heaven, the Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit.
It is the equivalent of unplugging your computer from your modem so that you cannot access the network any longer.
When the phase of Dualism has run its course, YHWH will separate both sides (both realities) of the Dualism coin, and since no connection to Heaven will be possible from the reality of Gehenna, Heaven will be out of reach from Gehenna permanently, just as we cannot access a particular site or program running on another server if we lack a connection to the traffic network which enables computers to exchange information with each other.
Gehenna is the realm of those who unplugged themselves from the network of Heaven.

I have written it before, and I emphasize it again: our Life here on Earth is a DREAM, and although I know it sounds weird because the Life we lead in this Earth-dream seems to real and so tangible, the Truth is that it is part of a reality which resembles a simulation designed to allow us to experience the internal Dualism of Good and Evil so that we might be able to make a choice from this perspective, and in working out this choice our Soul might be shaped from the experience.
That which we refer to as the 'Spirit' or the 'the Heavens' is more real than this Earthly plane of existence.

The reality of Sheol is like a dream compared to our Earth reality, and the reality of Gehenna in turn is like a dream compared to the reality of Sheol.
Both Sheol and Gehenna are dream realities which become part of our consciousness because of the fact that we transfer energy to their programming by means of our focus on Evil which causes us to sin.
Sin is the actual transfer of Life-force from the Good side of Dualism to Evil, and as a consequence Evil becomes a living, breathing reality.
We breathe Life into the balloon of Evil through Sin.

That is why Evil and the reality of Gehenna (which is the reality of Evil only), are able to manifest as if they can exist, while in fact they CANNOT exist in the reality of Heaven because of what Evil is: non-existence.
It is able to have an appearance of existence in the form of a dream, a simulation, and our surrender to Evil puts us in a comatose state of existence where we dream the dream of Evil so that it becomes REAL to us.

We experience life on Earth as a reality because our Spirits have been integrated in an interface to this reality, namely the physical Body.
We may seek to by-pass our Creator in the quest for immortality and transcendence of our human limitations, but this is the equivalent of children playing with nuclear detonators.
Do we have the knowledge to determine the exact consequences of what we are doing?
The Textbook Zealot thinks he has the answers ready in his textbook, only to find out afterwards that the textbook was incomplete and even mistaken at some points.
But at what cost?

Some seek the answer to eternal Life in the form of merging the human 'personality' with the computer.
However, we, as Spirits with a human Soul living in a human Body, can never merge with the digital realm of numbers because of one thing: we are analog, and the infinite analog reality can never be captured in finite, discreet digital form.
I will explain what I mean.

Have you ever considered the clock?
It is used for indexing moments so that we can use the index as a catalogue with reference points to certain events.
When we divide time by means of a clock, we are in essence digitalizing that which we experience as the flow of time: when we focus on one point on the clock, for example 12 o'clock, this '12' becomes the digital '1', and all other moments the '0'.
The clock acts are a ruler for our consciousness by means of which we create reference points in the motion of time which enable us to create a perspective of this motion.

Yet I ask you, can we divide an analog flow of time?
Each division contains an infinite number of subdivisions, and each subdivision contains yet another infinite number of subdivisions.
The atom was NOT the smallest particle in a 'material' Creation, but it was discovered that even tinier particles existed, sub-atomic particles.
And I predict that science will discover that these sub-atomic particles are not the tiniest elements in our physical realm, but that they are made out of tiny manifestations of pure energy, and that this energy is indivisible, infinite.

The digitalization of time is therefore an artificial phenomenon where we THINK we have isolated moments in terms of a duration of time, but in reality we simply have taken artificial slices in order to be able to create a sequentially ordered catalogue of that which we experience as a flow of time.
In other words, the artificial element here is the ruler we created in the form of a clock, yet time itself is indivisible.
The ruler acts in the same way as an analog-to-digital converter.

Likewise, when the analog flow of audio is digitalized, it means finite slices are isolated from an infinite flow and stored in finite discrete form.
Within the environment of a digital audio workstation the digitalized finite slices are 'recalculated', which means in terms of audio that the audio signal is processed, after which the finite slices are then put back together again in the digital-to-analog conversion stage so that once again an infinite stream of audio is reconstructed based on the finite and thereby limited slices of audio which were sampled.

So you never get a true one-on-one representation of the original infinite analog flow of audio, but instead a reconstructed flow of audio based on the information contained within the samples, the tiny slices of the measurements of an audio signal.
After all, if you take an audio signal of one second, and you divide it into a thousand little pieces, then each little piece can be subdivided again in a thousand little pieces, and each piece of that subdivision can again be subdivided in a thousand little pieces, and so on.

Analog audio signals or visual images are in essence infinite, specific manifestations of an infinite energy Source.
There is no end to the subdivisions we can apply to an audio or a visual signal.
They basically are manifestations of infinity in what appears to us as a definite finite form, eternal energy flowing from the eternal, infinite Source of all filtered by the input of our
physical senses.
The illusion of the finite form is created by our senses and our position within a dualistic framework.
This dualistic framework once again is the result of the digital programming code of Dualism, hence the appearance of a finite appearance of that which is in essence is infinite.
I will explain this in greater detail in a later article.

When a computer creates a digital version of this analog world, it takes samples (finite slices) of analog signals.
It subdivides a signal in tiny pieces and approximates the value of those tiny pieces in order to store those measurements in its catalogue.
Then the computer can use those numbers and apply calculations to them in order to change their appearance in the analog world when the signal is converted back again from the digital domain into the analog domain.

So maybe you wonder: if an analog signal is infinite and cannot be subdivided in such a way that we reach a point where we can point at the sample we took and say that it is the smallest piece of the signal, how is it possible that we can freeze an analog (infinite) signal in the form of a digital (finite) sample?
After all, you can't capture infinity in a finite, discreet form.
We can take samples of 'eternity' (the analog signal) because we measure the energy of the signal for a predetermined slice of time so that the duration of one slice is for example one millisecond, or a few nanoseconds.
We end up 'freezing' (recording) a moment, or rather an approximation of the value number of a moment.
What we did is that we recorded a particular slice of the projection of our reality environment on our time-ruler (the clock), and expressed it in finite, limited numbers.

The problem is that these slices (the samples we took of the analog signal) are finite, and thereby limited subdivisions or representations of an infinite analog signal.
When we sample an infinite analog signal, we actually set borders around it, the borders of the duration of for example one millisecond per slice, borders of a limited number expressing the value of the energy we measured (voltage), while in fact that number could go on indefinitely, yet it is limited by the tiniest subdivision of time our clock can measure.
Thus we create a digital INTERPRETATION of an analog reality, and not a true copy of it.

When we sample an analog signal, we time the slices on a clock, store the closest value our equipment is able to detect, and thus create a little finite box which by its nature can never capture the eternity of the analog signal, but rather a temporal, limited discreet interpretation of the signal.
When the samples of the signal we took are converted back into an analog signal, these slices of limited, discreet values are strung together again.
By stringing those 'frozen moments of finite interpretations of infinity' together and calculating the transitions from one sample to another we once again have a continuous analog signal.
But it is an approximation (interpretation) of the original signal, a synthesized version.

The only way to be able to reproduce a true one-on-one copy of the original analog signal from the digital domain would be if we could design an algorithm which is capable of accurately calculating the complete analog flow of the signal and thus mimic it for the full 100%.
Although our ears and eyes may be fooled by today's technology, we have not (yet) reached the point where computers can reproduce perfect versions of analog signals.

Reading this should make it clear that the analog world we live in and the digital world of computation are two different separate realms which can be accessed by means of portals: digital-to-analog converters and vice versa.

Because of the different nature of the digital dimension I cannot see how our Spirit and Soul could possibly integrate with the computer, the very thing Kurzweil strives after in his quest for immortality.
True, Spirits can travel through electrical signals because electricity is an analog flow, but when we discuss the transference of the human Spirit and Soul (and its consciousness) to a computer, we are talking about taking separate slices, samples of voltage variations.
By sampling a person's personality you do not integrate the Soul and Spirit into the digital realm, but you are creating a personality copy at best.
It is one thing for Spirits to attach themselves to an object, it is something different to integrate with it.
For the Spirit and Soul to integrate into the digital realm, the least of the requirements would be that the digital realm is analog (infinite) in nature, which it is not.

Because our physical environment is analog in nature it allows for our Spirit to merge with the vessel of a physical Body.
And that is exactly the reason why our Spirit and our Soul could never merge with a digital computer.

The Textbook Zealot

Recently I came across a few internet discussions about Neil Young's initiative which aims to promote a higher resolution audio standard than the CD.
Some claim its true purpose is to create a new milking cow for the music industry using the higher audio resolution as a facade to hide the true intentions.
Others applaud Neil Young's move because they welcome a standard which significantly improves upon the old CD-audio standard, which is PCM audio with a 16-bit resolution sampled at 44.1 kHz.

One thing I noticed about these discussions is the incredible religious zeal some have with regards to the 'almighty truth of science'.
They tend to ridicule those in favor of a higher resolution because 'their science textbook explains we cannot hear above 20 kHz so any higher sample rate than what the CD offers (44.1kHz, which means it is capable of reproducing frequencies a little over 20kHz) is ridiculous, and furthermore, many cannot hear the difference between 16-bit and 24-bit of the amplitude of a waveform, so it's a 'waste of time and effort to change the current CD standard for audio' which in their opinion is just fine.

If they are confronted with someone who feels that 'something is lacking in CD quality audio', then it's always either because the listener is 'imagining things', or it's because 'there is something wrong with the  equipment'.
In their view it is not possible to experience something lacking in CD quality audio which is (partially) caused by the resolution, because their science textbook Bible shows it is impossible for the human senses to detect this, so therefore anyone claiming that a CD sounds cold is either listening to the audio through inferior equipment, or they simply are prone to suggestions of their imagination.

And so Neil Young as well as those who favor a higher resolution audio format receive quite a lot of flak.
'Well, you know those artist types, they tend to reason with their emotions instead of being rational creatures, and a solid rational analysis of scientific issues falls beyond their intellectual capabilities.
When they talk about scientific issues they simply are clueless and don't understand it at all'
'Neil Young and associates are just money leeches promoting a PR-fable to fatten the wallets of record companies who are given a new chance to sell once again their old back catalogue.
It all just a conspiracy for gullible fools, and the artists agreeing with Neil Young are either part of the con game, or they are just typical artistic airheads too stupid to realize someone is manipulating them'.

While it is true that record companies will indeed have a new opportunity to sell the old catalogue again, to assume that Young's move is just a con-game for the sake of reviving the finances of record companies by means of lies is quite an accusation, and in my opinion not true.
And aside from the question whether or not Neil Young's initiative features the ultimate audio format (although it certainly is much better than the outdated CD-standard I absolutely do not think it is the ultimate audio format), the tone I read in the writings of the disciples of the science textbook posing as musicians/composers/ producers/and-what-not is one of profound bigotry and arrogance, a true robotic mindset which has conformed itself to the dictates of the religion of science.
The problem with science is that today's fact is tomorrow's error, and today's knowledge is tomorrow's ignorance.
So any religious fervor based on the acceptance of certain 'scientific facts' is a house built on shifting sand, incapable of withstanding the storms of time.

We may have a scientific model which describes what happens when we hear a signal with our ears, but I ask you, are you sure this model is complete, can we be certain that this model describes all the aspects involved in the process of hearing and perceiving a signal?
Or could it be that perhaps other factors are involved in the process of listening to music, factors we have not included in our model yet which play a significant role in how the brain processes audio signals?
Furthermore, how do we listen, and how does this affect our perception?
If we consciously try to detect the difference between fragment A and B, are we listening in the same way as when we do not try to detect differences but rather seek to enjoy the music?
And if indeed there ARE differences, in what way do they affect the way the brain processes the audio signal and how we experience the outcome of this process?
And if we have a Spirit (and I KNOW we are Spirits living in a physical Body), how does the Spirit affect our experience of listening to audio?
I just want to point out a few murky areas which may play a role in how we experience our exposure to audio signals in a particular format.

I certainly would not be too quick to jump to conclusions based on 'scientific facts', especially since we live as analog human beings in an analog reality, and the digital realm is based on 'slicing up' analog signals in order to be able to process the slices in the digital domain.
Our entire human Body, Soul and Spirit are primed to get the most out of the analog information which our Creator put in our environment.
The digital realm by its nature only takes (samples) a small portion of this analog information and assembles this limited amount of approximated information back into an analog signal.

That is why I am a great proponent of higher resolutions in both audio and video.
Why retire in self-complacency based on textbook models when the option to explore hidden avenues of science is at your disposal?
Isn't that which should excite any true scientist (or whatever profession you have chosen), the ability to put question marks behind certain facts which are accepted as truth, and explore if perhaps there are other aspects which have been overlooked?
Isn't the quest for improvement and augmenting your knowledge part of the glamour and excitement of the profession?

It is exactly the complete lack of this curiosity-inspired attitude which I find so striking among the conformed robotic disciples of the holy science textbook bible.
They seem to hear with spectrum graphs and oscilloscopes, listening through the glasses of the paragraphs in their textbook they recite like obedient parrots.
Their science textbook determines what they should hear, and in true robotic fashion they proceed to adopt this as their holy Truth dictated by their holy Science Bible, and woe to anyone who dares to contradict what their Science Bible teaches.

That's just plain old zealous, religious bigotry wearing a different coat.
It would not be so bad if it weren't for the fact that the zeal I see in those discussions and the arrogant behavior displayed by the zealous disciples of science puts the Jehovah Witnesses' evangelizing efforts to shame.
And to make it worse, some of the zealous evangelists of the CD standard consider themselves to be open-minded individuals criticizing others if they dare to cherish a religious conviction.
Any 'artist' who has such a robotic mindset would be better off in a plain day job focused on earning as much money as possible, because that type of mindset kills the Soul and shuts out the Spirit.

I have always felt that CD audio format is lacking something, and my first experience of listening to a CD was that it felt Soulless and cold, as if it is 'hollow audio'.
Yes, it had a very detailed veneer, but it lacked 'substance'.
I didn't really like it, and I certainly do not consider it to be superior to vinyl or tape.
It's true that converters have improved a lot since the release of the CD, and the quality of the audio on a CD has improved a lot, but to make the claim that it is superior to analog audio as found on vinyl or tape simply is ridiculous and untrue.

The medium used for analog audio is usually either tape or vinyl, and both have their weak spots in terms of either hiss, wow and flutter, or cracks and ticks.
Few things are as annoying as a vinyl record which is stuck in a groove.
By their imperfections and their properties they furthermore tend to color sound, albeit I am very quick to add that the way tape colors sound is like adding delicious dressing on the salad: it enhances and enriches the color of the sound.
Not only that, but the shortcomings such as the crackling of a vinyl record or a subtle amount of tape hiss and even wow & flutter are actually included in certain digital plug-ins as features used in digital audio production.
And it's true, the crackling of a record can actually contribute to create a particular atmosphere, and the subtle hiss of tape can actually cushion the complete absence of sound as is the case with digital audio.

When the CD appeared on the scene 'digital' and 'analog' usually were positioned on opposite sides.
'Analog' was old-fashioned because it was associated with imperfect carriers such as tape and vinyl records, and it was replaced by the 'modern' and 'more perfect pristine' digital audio quality of the CD.
However, contrary to this idea, 'digital' certainly is not superior to 'analog'.
If anything, it's the reverse, because 'digital' consists of interpretations and approximations of analog signal values strung together by means of algorithms and filters, while 'analog' is, well, true 'analog', a continuous exact waveform.

With that in mind it is a pity that attempts to develop a laserdisc featuring analog audio read by a laser never came to fruition.
The idea (AND technology) already existed in the seventies, but in the early eighties big companies gave preference to the development of a digital format over the development of a successor of the vinyl record in the form of a laser disc.
And so, as the digital CD entered the arena, analog audio prepared to make its exit.
However, 'analog' never really left the building, and to this very day it is still very much alive, even thriving on the waves of a renewed interest in analog audio.

Unfortunately, if you feel there is something not quite right with the CD as I did, then there must be something wrong with you.
At least, that is what you will be told by the disciples of the holy science textbook.

'You are not accustomed to hearing so much detail',
or,
'You are simply imagining things because you used to listen to vinyl and now your mind is conscious of listening to a different medium'.

After all, when the holy science textbook dictates that we cannot hear above 20 kHz, then 'harmonics above 20 kHz (which most certainly are present on a good vinyl record) can be filtered away on the CD, and since it is hard or nigh impossible to consciously hear differences between a 16-bit or 24-bit resolution of the amplitude, any negative listening experience must be simply something of a psychological nature'.
So if you hear something contradicting the science bible, then you're the basket case and counseling would be the best course of action.

It is this kind of arrogance and bigotry which sets the tone of the discussion.
If you dare to have a different opinion, you become the emotional fool incapable of rational and analytical reason, and therefore your experiences (and those of MANY others) should be discarded as emotional projections of a delusional mind.
As if you're crazy and the robotic zealous religious fanatics are the intelligent, rational and superior experts who know better.
But it's OK if you're an artist, because artists are wacky anyway...

But how aware and rational can they be if they are not able to reflect on their own stance and notice the religious fervor with which they support their acceptance of certain 'scientific facts' which may not be complete, or even accurate?
Who in his right mind assesses the input of his senses by means of a standard textbook instead of his own intuition?
If my mind tells me something is not quite right with the sound of a CD and a textbook analysis dictates that I must be wrong, I am not so brainwashed that I accept the textbook as the infallible truth and hypnotize myself into filtering out the input of my own mind.
It is true that the mind can play tricks, but that is not the case when I write about how I experience the digital audio format as it is found on a CD.

Whether or not Neil Young's initiative is the answer or not remains to be seen.
As I wrote, in my opinion it definitely is NOT the ultimate audio format since that crown goes to a medium which is capable of carrying analog audio without displaying shortcomings of its own.
But it definitely is an improvement, since the 24-bit 192kHz format is a higher resolution and a closer approximation of an analog signal.
Furthermore, this initiative pushes the need for a higher resolution standard in audio production, which I think is great.
It means that the companies creating digital instruments such as synths and workstations also will need to think about moving a few steps up the ladder in terms of the audio resolution, something which a company such as Roland already did with their AIRA product line.

But, as I have hinted already, if you TRULY want an accurate representation of analog audio and analog master tapes hiding in the vaults of record companies, the best medium would be a medium which can carry an analog signal without affecting the quality of the sound negatively by the imperfections of the medium.
Such as the laserdisc I mentioned.
It could not hurt if the music industry were to consider exploring this avenue, especially if you consider the fact that whereas CD sales are plummeting, the sales of vinyl records are constantly on the rise.
If you give such a laserdisc the same size as old vinyl records, you have a worthy successor of the old vinyl disc in a package which also allows more room for cover and inlay art than the tiny plastic CD case.

I think Neil Young's initiative will be a push towards a higher standard of audio resolution in digital audio productions, and as such I applaud it and welcome it.
But for the 'real deal' I strongly feel that the analog laserdisc or a similar format designed to carry true analog audio is the ultimate solution.

I love analog audio because it is the closest to the analog reality we are part of, but it does not mean that I therefore have an aversion towards digital audio.
I have also listened to audio at higher resolutions through high quality digital converters, and I have to say that this experience was different from my experience of listening to the first CDs in the eighties.
Furthermore, the extent to which digital audio can be manipulated is simply amazing, and if you reassemble the digital samples back into an analog continuous signal again through high quality converters, the result can be very pleasing to the ears, especially if you go at least one step up from the CD audio standard (for example 96 kHz at 24 bit).

Software is good at supporting, emulating and manipulating an analog reality, but it still has a lot of room for improvement.
The ideal of a 'studio-in-a-box' is a nice marketing slogan, but music producers know that if you really want to make an audio signal come alive you have to take the audio signal out of the box, and route it through analog equipment such as a mixing console.

It is a pity that digital was pitched against analog in the past, because both have unique qualities of their own, and digital can serve to support and enhance an analog reality.
It is very exciting to see digital technology mature and improve as time goes by, especially since the interaction between the digital realm and the analog realm is constantly improving to the point where the digital realm becomes a very valuable extension of our analog world.
As the interfaces and the interaction with the digital domain grow to resemble the interaction with our analog world to an increasing degree, the integration of both domains has the potential of greatly enhancing our living standard.
And of course that also can be used for Evil purposes...

So, why am I writing about digital audio?
Because the digital domain really is a new, artificial dimension we opened up, a realm which is founded on numbers and using those numbers to create a virtual reality.
Just like our own analog dimension.
Our analog dimension has been created by means of numbers acting as operators on energy so that the energy manifests in a particular form with specific qualities.

This post serves as a prelude to the next one where I will discuss in greater detail the difference between analog and digital and how the digital realm really is a new dimension.
